We hope to see many of you later this month for Spring Family Weekend, which will be held February 28-March 2. The events of the weekend are planned and sponsored by Student Union, and they have a comprehensive Spring Family Weekend website with event details.
Mark your calendars! The date for fall Family Weekend has been set for October 24-26, 2014. Over the summer, Student Union will be providing information about the weekend’s events, hotel information, and more.
Finally, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so send your Deac an e-card with Deacon Greetings! You can select the Valentine’s Day option – or any other. Brighten your student’s day with a personalized e-card from the ones they love.

The Office of Academic Advising reminds families of two important dates: February 10th-14th will be Major/Minor Declaration for Sophomores. (For more information on this, parents may visit the Registrar’s website), and February 18th is the last day to drop a course without penalty.
LENS @ Wake Forest is now accepting applications from rising high school juniors and seniors for its 2014 summer program. As the University’s flagship summer program for high school students, LENS @ Wake Forest is a three-week summer experience that equips current high school students with an academic foundation necessary to become global citizens. The 2014 academic theme is Global Sustainability.
Jacque Fetrow, Dean of the College, blogged recently about a major achievement from a Wake Forest alumnus: “The American Mathematical Society’s (AMS) 2014 Leroy P. Steele Prize for Lifetime Achievement is perhaps the highest intellectual achievement and one of the highest distinctions in mathematics. This award is presented annually by the American Mathematical Society. It is no wonder that I am extremely proud of Wake Forest’s alumnus Phillip A. Griffiths (WFU 1959) for having attained this distinctive award.” Read the full story »

Many sophomore students are currently looking at study abroad options for the next academic year. Residence Life and Housing has published a flyer with information about the room selection process for students planning to go abroad in 2014-15.
The third independently organized TEDxWakeForestU event will be held on February 22, 2014 in Wait Chapel. This year's theme is 'Daring to Endeavor,' encompassing the spirit and drive of our 2014 speakers. Visit the official TEDxWakeForestU event page for more information.

As part of University Police’s overall efforts to help students be more aware of safety issues, they are sharing information and safety tips during February. Read more »
Student Financial Services reports that a $500 non-refundable tuition deposit is required of all undergraduate students who plan to enroll for the fall 2014 semester. An email will be sent to the student's official WFU email address during mid-February with instructions on how to pay the deposit. The due date for the deposit is March 15, 2014.
Wake Forest is now offering tax form 1098-T in electronic format via WIN. Students must grant consent via WIN in order to view and print their 1098T tax form. Instructions can be found here.

As a reminder, most administrative offices work on a Monday-Friday 8:30am-5 pm schedule. However, if you have an urgent need to reach someone at the university because you have a concern that must be addressed quickly, we have designated the University Police as our 24/7 contact. They can assess the situation and determine who best to address your concern. The 24-hour contact number for University Police is 336.758.5591 (non emergency) or 336.758.5911 (emergency). They can get in touch with on-call duty staff 24-hours/day.
