Thanksgiving is nearly upon us, and the campus has a wonderful tradition that was created in the spirit of our University motto Pro Humanitate (“for humanity”). This tradition is called Turkeypalooza.
During Turkeypalooza , Wake Forest students, faculty, and staff volunteers prepare and deliver 400 traditional Thanksgiving dinners to food-insecure Triad-area residents. Turkeypalooza is an annual event hosted by The Campus Kitchen at Wake Forest University during the national Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. More than 150 volunteers will cook with locally sourced food and deliver to families who might otherwise go without a Thanksgiving meal.
Turkeypalooza is one of the many reasons I am proud to be a Deac.
I wish all our Wake Forest families a wonderful Thanksgiving and a very happy start to the holiday season.
Go Deacs!

Make sure you consult the Residence Life & Housing calendar and sorority recruitment calendars before you make travel plans for your student for Winter Break. Any students approved to change rooms will need to make the move before they leave, so make sure you account for that time since they likely have to wait for someone else to move-out first!
Sorority Recruitment will take place in early January, before the start of classes. If your student has registered to participate in sorority recruitment, please see this Q&A and description of the process.
Save the Date! Student Union will sponsor Spring Family Weekend February 28- March 2, 2014. Join us for a weekend of entertainment with your student as our Demon Deacon Men's Basketball team takes on Boston College! Please contact us at studentunion@wfu.edu with any questions. We look forward to seeing you in the Spring!
