For those of you who traveled to Winston-Salem for Family Weekend, we hope you enjoyed your time on campus. Fall is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful seasons at Wake Forest, and we were recently recognized as the #1 Most Beautiful College in the Fall by Best College Values. Go Deacs!

Looking ahead, two of the campus’ most cherished holiday traditions are coming soon. The Lighting of the Quad will take place on December 2nd. Then on Sunday, December 7th is the 50th Annual Lovefeast. Here’s a quick primer on what it entails:

“The Lovefeast is sponsored by the University and celebrates one of the unique traditions of the Moravian community in Winston Salem. The Quad is lined with luminaries, the Chapel is adorned with Christmas decorations, the concert choir and Moravian band are featured, traditional Moravian coffee and buns are served, and beeswax candles are provided to all who attend.”

If you would like to celebrate the Lovefeast in your own home, Lovefeast Kits are available for purchase (quantities are limited). The Lovefeast will be live streamed on the web so you can watch it online at

In this season of gratitude, we count our many blessings – especially that your students chose Wake Forest, and that we have such a wonderful group of Wake Forest parents and families as part of our larger Wake Forest family.

We wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.
